Our Story
Dynamize Therapy was established in 2025, with services starting in the rural/remote town of Mount Isa in North-West Queensland. Our founder, Cass, has a passion for providing services to clients who would otherwise not have access to services due to barriers such as location and transport. We service all walks of life as we note that in rural/remote locations, it is important to have supports in place.
We are not specialists in any specific area but over the years, we have been able to create connections with specialists in lots of areas of Occupational Therapy (OT) and have communication pathways with these specialised OTs to ensure that our clients get the best and most up to date evidence based interventions and services.
How did the name originate?
Cass always liked 'Dynamite' but wanted to add a part of her name into the business' name. Cass' last name has a 'z' in it, and therefore she thought of the name Dynamize. Cass then looked this up and the definition was as follows:
Dynamize (Oxford Dictionary) - give power or energy to; make dynamic
Cass believed this was very fitting as it is her ethos to empower others and instil independence and power! From that day forward, the name Dynamize Therapy stuck in Cass' head and there was no turning back!
What does the logo symbolise?
While Cass attempted to stay away from a tree... it was inevitable. A tree symoblises so much from an OT perspective but also from a healthcare perspective as well. In Occupational Therapy a tree is often used as a metaphor to show how foundational skills support a person's function and functional abilities. The roots represnet underlying areas such as sensory processing, regulation, strength, and coordination, which are essential for growth. The trunk symbolises core functonal capacities such as balance, postural control, motor planning, and cognitive skills. From this strong base, the branches grow, representing everyday skills such as fine motor tasks, play, self-care, liked activities and social participation. The leaves or fruit reflect the outcomes of therapy, including improved independence, engagement, participation and quality of life. Just like a tree needs good soil, water and sunlight, individuals also need supportive environments, routines (even basic), and nurture to thrive.
Other things that a tree can represent is personal growth, where the roots show values and expereinces that ground a person, and the branches reflect new skills, relationships, and goals developing over time. It can symbolise resilience, showing how someone continues to grow despite storms or difficult seasons. A tree can also represent identity, with each ring in the trunk marking different life stages that shape who they are. Additionally, it can illustrate healing, where damaged branches slowly regrow with the righ support, environment, and nourishment.
While these are the main reasons why Cass chose to have a tree in the logo, it also symoblises many more things than this. In some instances, trees have been used by Cass in therapy sessions, in many different ways and therefore, why it has even more significance!
